Ajay Kanwal, born in 1973, is a sculptor who pursued his studies in Sculpture at the Institute of Music and Fine Arts, Jammu (BFA), and later at the Faculty of Fine Arts, M S University, Baroda (MFA). Ajay Kanwal is a multifaceted artist known for his contributions to sculpture, exhibitions, and teaching. His accolades include the AIPACS Award in collaboration with the J & X Academy of Arts, Culture, and Languages, Jaanu (2001), as well as a National Scholarship from the Government of India, New Delhi (2001-03), showcasing his early recognition and talent.
Participating in prestigious events like the 42nd, 44th, and 45th National Exhibition of Art (2000, 2002, 2003) highlighted Kanwal's presence in the national art scene. Notable group exhibitions such as "The Chair Project" at Sarjan Art Gallery, Baroda (2005), and "Fanchaloha" at Tamarind Art Gallery, New York, USA (2007), demonstrated his versatility and international exposure.
